Security Transformation Summit 2024: Innovation and Security for the Future

Security Transformation Summit 2024: Innovatie en Veiligheid voor de Toekomst

September 19, 2024 hosted the Security Transformation Summit, an event that brought together companies, experts and innovative thinkers from the security community. The summit, which this year was all about transformation, offered participants valuable insights and strategies to address threats in the rapidly changing world.

There were interactive workshops, where participants could work together in smaller groups on current security challenges. These workshops provided practical tools to reduce risk and taught participants how to better protect their organizations using the latest technologies and strategies.

Mapping cyber - and data protection laws by Inge Spincemaille

A veritable tsunami of cyber – and data-related legislation has been upon us recently. We find that many organizations gasp when thinking about all the compliance obligations these legislations entail. Some of the possibilities include: NIS, DORA, CRA, AI, GDPR (still!) and so on… All acronyms of legislations that may come within the sights of even the physical security expert.

In this session we map these legislations: what are they about, to which organizations do they apply, what is their interrelation, how do we deal with the vague concepts of these legislations? In short: how do we get started?

Risk analysis by Kelly Coenen & Wim Hardyns

This interactive workshop explored a certified risk analysis methodology based on the principles of ISO 31000. ISO 31000 is considered the international standard for risk management. The methodology can be applied to different types of organizations, regardless of size, sector or location. Practical examples and case studies demonstrated how this methodology can be applied effectively and what it can do for an organization.

Participants had the opportunity to actively participate in this workshop where they could share, discuss and further explore insights. The goal was to give participants a better understanding of how to identify and manage risk with a specialized approach. By providing a structured method for identifying and analyzing risk, organizations are able to make more informed decisions.

Stakeholder management by Joris Van Haver

The objective of this workshop was to explore the crucial role of stakeholder management within integrated security management, through practical examples, in order to provide participants with insights and strategies that will help them work effectively with various stakeholders in security-related contexts.

At the end of this session you had a onepager with a brief summary of 4 concrete implementations in which we shape stakeholder management as part of an integrated safety approach.
